(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc summary/title:– Postdoctoral Research Assistant
You will join a research team led by Professor Rainbow Murray. You will research how well men are represented descriptively in parliaments around the world. You will conduct a quantitative analysis of key descriptive characteristics to identify whether male politicians are as diverse as their female counterparts. You will then analyse this data on descriptive representation against a range of gendered outcomes to test whether more diverse parliaments produce more inclusive outcomes. You will have the opportunity to present and publish your findings at international conferences and leading journals, and to undergo additional methods training.
Deadline : 19/11/2024
(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc summary/title:– Postdoctoral Research Assistant
You will join a research team led by Professor Rainbow Murray. You will research who is making representative claims on behalf of men. You will work on three cases studies: the UK, US and Norway. You will look at formal political structures and parliamentary work to identify critical actors advancing men’s interests. You will then look at men’s movements and explore their linkages with political actors. You will conduct a network analysis to analyse the relationships between the relevant actors within and outside parliament. You will then interview these actors, which will require three months of fieldwork (fully funded) in each of the case study countries.
You will have the opportunity to undertake additional research training, present your findings at international conferences and submit your work to leading journals.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc summary/title:– Postdoctoral Research Assistant x 3
The Centre for Geometry Analysis and Gravitation (GAnG) of the School of Mathematical Science is seeking up to three outstanding theorists working in the following fields: quantum or conformal field theory (QFT or CFT), black hole physics, holography and AdS/CFT, de Sitter (cosmology, field theory, gravity), quantum information, and/or matrix models. The successful candidates are expected to work with academics, postdocs and PhD students in the School, and bring research experience in several of the key areas mentioned above.
Deadline : 27/11/2024
(04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc summary/title:– Post-doctoral Research Associate
We are seeking an experienced Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team to support a research project which focuses on developing co-design tools and resources for engaging minority ethnic communities in healthcare intervention design. The project will create a toolkit to facilitate culturally sensitive co-design methods, with a proof-of-concept case study focusing on diabetes prevention interventions for women of South Asian and Black African heritage.
Deadline : 19/11/2024
(05) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc summary/title:– Postdoctoral Research Associate in Pollution and Coastal Risk
The School of Geography at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) is seeking to appoint a Post Doctoral Research Associate in Pollution and Coastal Risk.
The post-holder will play a significant and central role in a major new £3m multi-disciplinary project entitled “Resilience of Anthropocene Coasts and Communities (RACC): assessing and responding to urban and post-industrial coastal risks”. The project is part of a larger research programme and will investigate the interlinked risks of climate change, coastal flooding and erosion, and the UK’s historic waste legacy to develop coastal community and ecosystem resilience.
The major task for this postdoctoral researcher will be to map and understand the impacts and pathways of pollution associated with the flooding and erosion of historic coastal landfills. The researcher will work alongside four other postdoctoral researchers working broadly on community engagement, risk data synthesis, natural capital accounting and socioeconomics within the same project.
Deadline : 12/11/2024
(06) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc summary/title:– Postdoctoral Research Assistant
We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work with Dr Chema Martin on a Leverhulme Trust project entitled “Heads or tails? The evolution of trunk growth heterochronies in animal larvae”.
This research position will reveal the mechanisms that drive the evolution of animal larvae and shifts in modes of development. We will compare the development of two annelid worms and combine single-cell transcriptomics with classic embryological approaches and state-of-the-art computational methods. The findings from the project will address a long-standing question in animal EvoDevo, providing mechanistic insights into how animal life cycles diversify and the principles that allow temporal changes in the development of homologous structures.
The post holder will join a multidisciplinary, diverse, inclusive team with frequent meetings, interactions, and high-quality mentoring.

(08) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc summary/title:– Postdoctoral Research Assistant
A Postdoctoral Research Assistant position is available at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) to work with Dr Nikola Ojkic. The position is funded by a BBSRC project entitled ‘Alteration in bacterial cell envelope structure as the mechanism of antibiotic resistance and cell death’, with a proposed starting date of 1st December 2024.
Antibiotic resistance is a major threat to human health, requiring a better understanding of how antibiotics kill bacterial cells on a single-cell level and how antibiotic-resistant bacteria emerge. This project aims to use imaging, image analysis, mathematical modelling, and stochastic molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the physical mechanism of how antibiotic treatments ultimately lead to bacterial cell death.
The post-holder will join a multidisciplinary, diverse, inclusive team with frequent meetings, interactions, and high-quality mentoring. The post-holder will present data and findings at national and international conferences and scientific meetings. The post-holder will have an opportunity to develop their ideas through various collaborations with different research groups.
